Its Free! Swipe Yo’ EBT! The Life of Government Money and Perception

by TheBlackGuy on August 25, 2011

Introducing the greatest most horrible YouTube video you will EVER see. The Black explains that in spite of the “coonery” and craziness, there is a tremendous message behind the  (NSFW ALERT) video.

Okay, I usually don’t ever post NSFW videos on The Color Curve, being that I have a church-y clientele… or something. That being said, the language will get you called into HR if your speakers are on, so tread lightly. Watch it, you’ll laugh… I hope:

Is this the most appalling video you’ve ever seen? I have to say, it’s in the top 25, that’s for sure. However, I can look past the horribly annoying voice and the totally unnecessary curse words to understand the simplicity of her message.

This is perfectly real life in America.

What turns us into Cicely Tyson figures in a Madea movie is the way she carries herself, the way she flaunts it, and her indiscreet manner of living on the hardworking people’s dime. She is the quintessential ”Welfare Queen,” coined by the worst President before Bush infamous President Ronald Reagan when calling out black woman, Linda Taylor in the South Side of Chicago in 1976.

This is the video with the race war target on it’s back. Trolls are licking their chops ready to jump all over “lazy black people” and they’re disgusting, despicable and damned near money-laundering debauchery. As if the government isn’t already issuing drug tests now to screen welfare, there will be even more outrage, pointing out the audacity of how tax dollars support filthy pseudo criminals.

Let the outrage begin. Right?

At the same time, I had the opportunity to look at free government money in a different light.

Too Big to Fail is HBO’s latest movie release, a movie with far more class than crass. It’s a film with Times New Roman captions and symphony music to describe how other groups of people get their free money.

Written by Andrew Sorkin, the movie accurately depicts the tale of the 2008 financial meltdown, where bank owners oversaw one of the dirtiest loan sprees ever known to man.

There are no dancing baby mamas and vulgar lyrics; just men (and some women) in suits smiling and stressing over trillions of dollars, taking greed to levels unseen before.

While the average California resident gets $221 in welfare checks per MONTH, and people complain that that is too much… I decided to add an accurate list of what the government handed out to banks, worldwide. You can find the list of institutions that received the most money from the Federal Reserve, found on page 131 of the GAO Audit and are as follows..

Citigroup: $2.5 trillion ($2,500,000,000,000) Morgan Stanley: $2.04 trillion ($2,040,000,000,000) Merrill Lynch: $1.949 trillion ($1,949,000,000,000) Bank of America: $1.344 trillion ($1,344,000,000,000) Barclays PLC (United Kingdom): $868 billion ($868,000,000,000) Bear Sterns: $853 billion ($853,000,000,000) Goldman Sachs: $814 billion ($814,000,000,000) Royal Bank of Scotland (UK): $541 billion ($541,000,000,000) JP Morgan Chase: $391 billion ($391,000,000,000) Deutsche Bank (Germany): $354 billion ($354,000,000,000) UBS (Switzerland): $287 billion ($287,000,000,000) Credit Suisse (Switzerland): $262 billion ($262,000,000,000) Lehman Brothers: $183 billion ($183,000,000,000) Bank of Scotland (United Kingdom): $181 billion ($181,000,000,000) BNP Paribas (France): $175 billion ($175,000,000,000)and many many more including banks in Belgium of all places.

No banks in Africa? Just kidding… No, actually I’m not. But that’s for another column.

That’s a whole lot more than what anyone is receiving on an EBT card. So why are we so quick to judge, again?

I don’t think it excuses the Swipe Yo’ EBT video’s use of profanity, but the message is clear. People are using the governments money to live a lifestyle. The point is, whichever way you look at it, if you’re educated and working, you’re most likely going to be sick.

What are your thoughts on the video? Speak on it….
