Promise Kept! Obama Brings in All Combat Troops From Iraq Ahead of Time

by TheBlackGuy on August 19, 2010

He promised an August 31, 2010 deadline that everyone was coming home. Obama fulfilled that promise today, admist tons of love for the President. Hit the links for more info…

A line of heavily armored American military vehicles, their headlights twinkling in the pre-dawn desert, lumbered past the barbed wire and metal gates marking the border between Iraq and Kuwait early Thursday and rolled into history.

For the troops of the 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, it was a moment of relief fraught with symbolism but lightened by the whoops and cheers of soldiers one step closer to going home. Seven years and five months after the U.S.-led invasion, the last American combat brigade was leaving Iraq, well ahead of President Barack Obama’s Aug. 31 deadline for ending U.S. combat operations there.

It’s no wonder you have such little traffic when you just come right and lie as if its some kind of a great proclamation of truth. So, Obama kept his promise? After how my lies? He said he’d have troops out in a year. Then 16 months, then X, Y and Z… and just pray tell what do you think the remaining troops will be doing? Sitting around twiddling their thumbs? It’s a joke when they refer to the removal of “combat troops”… even if the remaining troops help more with support and logistics, they’ll certainly dish out a fine ass-whooping if its ever needed. So, don’t be such a sucker for the spin, please.

Can’t wait to see how you tell us he kept his promise when he closes Guantanamo… IF he closes Guantanamo.

there are still hundreds of troops in Iraq “peace-keeping” how are they to function and feel secure without additional troops if they are attacked? who now is responsible for those troops in Iraq? Pray for our American Soldiers STILL in Iraq…esp. that the insurgents do not now see them as sitting ducks…
and why is it such a big deal that he kept one of his promises? that’s whole another article right there!
